Do you visit a chiropractor regularly? If you do, your chiropractor may recommend a posture support brace. Others are due to injuries. But, most are due to poor posture. Very few people sit, stand, or walk properly. Most people do not sleep in the correct position either. This causes neck, back, and hip problems. A chiropractor can put everything back into place, but the adjustment is only temporary, if you continue to practice poor posture. When you wear a posture support brace, your movements are limited. You will still be able to work and participate in all of the activities that you enjoy, but your movements will be somewhat restricted in that you will only be able to move in the ways that your body is designed to move. A brace will not enable you to slump when you sit or slouch when you stand or walk. The brace will also keep your spine straight when you sleep. By limiting your movements to only those that are posture friendly, the brace also limits the number of times you will have to be manipulated by the chiropractor. That’s precisely the reason why many chiropractors do not recommend a posture support brace to their patients. Those, who are committed to the wellness of their patients, will prescribe a brace. They are more concerned with their patients’ well being than they are with the money that they earn. Those, who have chosen the profession for the amount of money that they are capable of earning, may not recommend braces to their patients. If you think that you may benefit from the use of a brace, you can bring up the subject with your chiropractor or consult another health care professional such as a family physician.
